Chocolate Banana Bread

A glow up for the traditional banana bread recipe with the addition of greek yoghurt which makes is super moist and cocoa adds a chocolatey twist that kids love. This recipe also freezes well so a good one to make and stash away for school lunches!

Chocolate Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of self-raising flour
  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
  • 80g butter (softened)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup greek yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 ripe bananas (3 mashed and 1 banana cut lengthways for decoration/topping)
  • 1/8 cup raw sugar (for top of loaf) mixed with 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
  • Grease or line a loaf pan
  • Mix your dry ingredients together (flour, sugar and coca)
  • Mix all your wet ingredients together in another bowl (banana, milk, egg, yoghurt, vanilla, butter)
  • Add in your wet ingredients to the dry and then mix it all together
  • Pour batter into your loaf pan
  • Sprinkle your sugar and cinnamon mix on top and then place your lengthways sliced banana on top
  • Cook for 1 hour or until you press the top and it bounces back.
