Christmas Spiced Sweet Potato and Banana Bread

Baby friendly Christmas spiced sweet potato and banana bread recipe by Starting Solids Australia

Christmas is just around the corner- and whether it is your first Christmas with a little person at home or you have been doing this for a few years now...it is ALWAYS an exciting time.

A lot of Christmas recipes are full or added sugar which isn't ideal for little people (we want to minimise and ideally avoid added sugar as much as possible before 2 years of age!) so, we have created this delicious and baby appropriate Christmas loaf. Think banana bread... but a Christmas edition.

Age Recommendation - Suitable from 6 + months. We recommend adding some yoghurt or a fruit puree for 6-9 months of age to make it a better texture for bub (cakes/muffins can become a little claggy in bubs mouth and adding some extra moisture can make it easier to eat).

This recipe contains several common allergens including:

  • Egg, milk and wheat

Swaps:

  • You can swap egg for flax eggs
  • You can swap the flour for a gluten free flour
  • You can swap the cow's milk for a plant milk
