Review: Aldi Brooklea Yoghurt Pouches
Let's review- The Aldi Brooklea Yoghurt Pouches
Okay guys- we are FINALLY doing it and reviewing the Aldi yoghurt pouches. You have been asking for this one for a long time so here it is.
What is in it?
Milk, Cream (milk), Milk Solids, Water, Rice Starch, Natural Flavours, Lemon Pulp, Live Yoghurt Cultures. The fruit flavours also contain fruit - I.e Seedless Strawberry Pulp (4.2%).
Allergens
CONTAINS: MILK
Cost: $1.29-$1.49 per pouch (110g)
What we like:
- Sugar- no added sugar! With 4.0g of sugar per 100g (naturally found in yoghurt and not from added sugar) it fits the bill of a low sugar product. Even the fruit version are low in sugar/have no added sugar.
- Fat- it is a full fat yoghurt which is what we want for kids under the age of 2.
- Price- cheapest pouch on the market
- Good source of calcium- meets the target of 120mg per 100g of yoghurt.
What we like less:
- Fat- the saturated fat is a little high but this is common for full fat dairy and not something we are too concerned about.
- Pouches are low mess but not good for skill building- we are fans of pouches for lunch boxes and when you're on the go but always suggest putting it into a bowl when you can to encourage skill building. But we don't have much to say in terms of negatives for this one
The Take Home:
Overall, we really love the Aldi Brooklea Yoghurt pouches and they are very similar to the Tamar Valley no added sugar pouches, but at almost half the price! These are an excellent option for a yoghurt pouch that hits the mark when it comes to being low/no added sugar, full fat for our kids under 2, budget friendly and a good source of calcium.
